The Principles of Foundations Performance & Rehab 💪🏻
Why “Foundations”?
All movements, whether they be simple or complex, require the development of a solid foundation in order to be performed successfully, avoid injury and allow for further development. Essentially, a solid foundation is the key to enhancing performance.
Think of it this way... Let’s compare firing a cannon out of a canoe on water vs. firing a cannon off solid ground. The cannons are both explosive however, the instance with the solid foundation is obviously going to be much more successful in reaching its target due to its strong position (Foundation).
The same can be said for all movements for the body. Everything starts from a base level and it is only when you have a solid foundation can you really begin to unlock the potential of the human body.
For example, have you ever performed a movement such as a deadlift or a squat and felt discomfort in your back etc? This could be a sign of having an inadequate foundation level of core strength.
“Foundations” resonates with who we are through both educational and practical experience as we believe that by taking the time to teach correct techniques and apply appropriate evidence based science, we are assisting our clients in being the best they can be.
